Plant Passport Ops
Plant passport labels from online orders, printed and archived in minutes.
Web app · Operations · Early access
Overview
Plant Passport Ops is a web app for small online plant sellers in Great Britain. It imports orders from Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce or a CSV file, matches each plant to its botanical name, traceability code and country of origin, and turns the batch into a print-ready PDF of plant passport labels. Every batch is saved with its orders, labels and passport details, so it can be searched and exported later.
Why it exists
Plants sent by post in Great Britain need a plant passport, and for small sellers that usually means copying order lines into a spreadsheet or a label template by hand. It is slow, easy to get wrong, and leaves no reliable record of what was sent where.
Plant Passport Ops was built to make that routine boring in the best way: start from the orders you already have, fix only the rows that are missing data, print the labels, and know the record is kept.
Product decisions
- Start from where orders already live. Sellers do not want another place to type orders in. The workflow starts from Shopify, Etsy and WooCommerce order exports or any CSV, so the first step is an import rather than data entry.
- A plant catalogue does the matching. Each plant is described once in the seller's own catalogue, with its botanical name, traceability code and country of origin. Imported order lines are matched against it, and only the rows that still need data are put in front of the seller for review.
- Labels as a batch, not one by one. A whole day's orders become one PDF of printable labels with passport elements A to D and a QR code, with label size and page layout set per workspace to match the seller's printer.
- An archive you can trust. Generated batches are append-only: passport records cannot be edited or deleted after the fact. Every batch stays searchable by order, plant or traceability code and can be exported when someone asks for it.
- Try it before signing up. A private demo workspace with sample orders opens without an account, so a seller can walk through the full import to label to archive flow in a minute before deciding anything.
Outcome
Plant Passport Ops turns a manual, error-prone compliance chore into a short routine: import, review, print, archive. It is built with React, TypeScript and Supabase, with simple Free, Starter and Pro plans, and is currently open for early access. It does not grant official authorisation and is not affiliated with any regulator; it helps sellers produce and keep the records they are already responsible for.
